Although the fuel system on the Sukhoi SU-26 is extremely simple and reliable, use of the removable external tank leaves all fuel in the external tank at the end of a flight. This is a significant drawback because it makes removal of the external tank (which is necessary before performing any of the aerobatics for which the plane was built) difficult and leaves the internal tank empty.
Most modifications to alleviate the external tank drawback require additional fuel lines. This clamp was made to hold three fuel lines parallel to a frame tube. Although most such clamps would have bolts on both sides of the frame tube, there is insufficient clearance to install a bolt between the tube and the skin so we designed this clamp to use an interference fit around the tube.
