At least two Sukhoi's have been destroyed when the rudder cables failed in flight so many owners are replacing the original cables with higher quality U.S. made cables. The simplest way to adapt U.S. (inch) cable ends to the Russian made (metric) fittings is to replace the turnbuckle barrels with special turnbuckle barrels which have metric threads on one end and inch threads on the other. This is one of five sets of such turnbuckle barrels we made for various Sukhoi owners.
Athough we could have tapered the ends of these turnbuckle barrels to look more like standard parts, they are hidden inside the airplane once installed so we left the ends straight to reduce the price.
