Metric aircraft tires are not readily available in the United States so many Sukhoi owners convert their landing gear to US wheels. The left photo shows the axle and brake caliper bracket from an SU-26. The small blocks of steel between the axle backplate and the caliper bracket simulate the gear leg through which the axle extends. The right photo shows a Cessna 172 axle (a similar weight airplane which uses the same wheels the customer planned to put on the Sukhoi) on the left and one of the new axles we made for the Sukhoi on the right.
